I installed ShopAtHome toolbar, now Yahoo has hijacked my new tab. How do I fix this to the last visited tabs?

Multiple forums have addressed the fact that Yahoo is hijacking new tabs. I installed the ShopAtHome toolbar - which I love - but then I get Yahoo installed (mysteriously and uninvited).

I would like the new tab to reset to its default of: either the panels of previous sites, or the blank page. The prior issues relating to netassistant do not work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

You can try to right-click and Reset the key browser.newtab.url in about:config or Modify and enter about:blank.

about:config Entries

The Config Descriptions add-on adds helpful source comments in about:config.

New tab page

If the issue returns, you can try to check/change the Options for ShopAtHome in Firefox Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons > Extensions, or in the toolbat itself.

That did work. However, I was curious as to how it reappears when activating the ShopAtHome Toolbar? They (ShopAtHome) claim they don't have Yahoo incorporated into their code.

I really love the toolbar, but, God, Yahoo sucks so bad! What a bunch of 2nd rate hackers insinuating their code everywhere!

Not sure, the original toolbar may be good to the word. It could be a variant, or an affiliate repackaged one. You may also want to check after restarting Firefox (a quick way to restart Firefox is to press Shift + F2, type restart and Enter), and also after rebooting the PC to make sure the problem isn't returning, perhaps with another add-on/external Windows program.
