Why doesn't Firefox connect to websites anymore after I established a connection with OpenVPN?.
IE has the same problem. However uTorrent keeps working after I connect with OpenVPN. I am running XP Professional SP 3.
During OpenVPN connection I pinged google.com. This does not work. When I ping the IP (instead of the name) from google.com I get respons.
The moment I disconnect my OpenVPN connection Firefox works again as usual

This is a guess, but: Do your Windows TCP/IP settings specify a particular DNS server? If so, you might need to clear that so the DNS servers can be set by the proxy service.

I'm not sure how that service works. Could you check your proxy setting to see whether it is hardcoded? You might need to change it to use the "system settings" or "no proxy" in order to switch between standard and VPN modes.
orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > Networks > "Settings" button
Thank you, I already tried all network settings. No proxy, detect by system, and use system settings.
I think the following is important! When, during OpenVPN connection, I use www.google.com, Firefox doesn't connect. However when I connect to the IP address from www.google.com with Firefox it works. It seems that DNS does not work properly. Any ideas?
Thnx

Problem solved, I removed the driver and re-installed it. That was all. Strange, but ok. Thnx for your support.
