I have three browsers including Firefox 3.6.28. I am running a Mac Power Book G4 with a OS X 10.5.8

For security purposes, I have installed a "text seal" and "color" on Yahoo Mail. For my other two browsers the text seal and color remain permanent when I quit each but for Firefox, when I delete history or just "quit," the next time I try Yahoo Mail both the text seal and color have not been saved.

Of course, I do not have to use Yahoo on Firefox but I would like to; always have.

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

For an unofficial Firefox 17.0 ESR compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

cor-el had the correct solution. By un-checking "cookies" and "site preferences" when clearing history on my version of Firefox, I was able to maintain the integrity of my Yahoo Mail, "sign in seal" and chosen "color."
