I downloaded my favorites from the internet explorer to a folder in my computer. How can I add them to bookmarks in Firefox.

You can only do that by copying them to the IE Favorites folder on that computer and subsequently export them in IE to an HTML backup.
Firefox can't handle the directory structure and .url files that MS utilizes directly.
