Are there logs of user activity ?
I recently read an affidavit stating that Firefox logs all user activity in a given browser section on a given computer. The affidavit stated:
"Firefox on the computer was used to input text into a form field with the label "Email" into an unkown website."
"Firefox on the computer was used to input text into a form field with the label q on an unknown website"
Which log file is this information being written to??

Hello,
I'm not entirely sure what information the quote is referring to. It references information being put into a text form field but says nothing about the results...
Do you have any more information on what information you are asking about?
Firefox logs lots of user information on the users PC for later use, for example Browser History.
With the users' permissions Mozilla also collects some information to help improve the browser experience, for example Firefox Health Report and Telemetry.

You can find the Data Choices here:
Tools > Options > Advanced > Data Choices
Currently there are:
Telemetry Firefox Health Report Crash Reporter

Hello, I discovered the answer myself. This information is stored in formhistory.sqlite and places.sqlite.
Note that Firefox only stores form data if this feature is enabled and if a form doesn't have an autocomplete=off attribute.
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": "Remember search and form history"
