Why does Flashblock not block any more?

With Flashblock 1.5.17 and Firefox 24.0, only the first instance of a Flash plugin on a given site has a placeholder and is blocked. Change the page within the same site, and there is no placeholder. In other words, it is behaving just like plugins.click_to_play. What is going on? Is there some setting somewhere that I missed?

Hello,,

you should use addblock plugin to solve this problem.

I am using Adblock Plus, and also Click to Play per-element. The latter is not doing anything any more. I have to click the icon in the address bar to get anything to play, and that brings back the per-site behaviour.

Maybe I should give a better description of what I am seeing.

I set click-to-play to false and the plugins are set as Always Activate. On YouTube, if I click the Flashblock placeholder when I first load a page with a Flash video, everything behaves as expected. When Flashblock disappears, I see the "Activate Adobe Flash" icon and click that, and the video loads. If I click a thumbnail picture on the same page for another video, it starts playing as soon as the page loads, with no placeholder of any kind. I do not expect that. I want any plugin item on any page to start with a placeholder.

With SeaMonkey using plugins click-to-play, I have to click the placeholder with every new page. Flashblock used to behave that way with Firefox, but no longer.
