Some websites have a transparency over images to keep them from being copied. Right-click the page and use View Page Info, then click on Media. Locate the image you want to save and use Save As from that Page Info dialog box.

Or find it in the Browser Cache and save it from there.

Could you give the direct URL to a tweet where you can't save the image?

If you right-click the image and the menu shows "This Frame" try expanding the menu and viewing the frame in a new tab. Does that make any difference?

It is likely that some other element gets selected if you do not get the right-click context menu for images.

Using "Inspect Element" should confirm this.

Easiest in such a case is to use the "Tools > Page Info > Media" page to save the image as posted above by the-edmeister.
