Sync Firefox and Waterfox on the same machine?

I've just installed Waterfox Portable after using Firefox Portable, and I want to sync them. But when I try to open Firefox, then Waterfox, executing Waterfox opens Firefox, and vice versa. Is there anyway to sync them? Or do I need to put Waterfox on another machine and just sync them that way? (which would be a pain).

hello leica0000, please refer to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Opening_a_new_instance_of_Firefox_with_another_profile in order to run two instances of firefox in parallel.

leica0000,

I'm curious where you got a "Portable" version of Waterfox, I don't see it listed at PortableApps.com.
You can't run both versions at the same time, without editing both installations as I mention below.

phillip,

That's not going to work for PortableApps versions. Edit the FirefoxPortable.ini file, so this pref is true.
AllowMultipleInstances=true

Not sure of that will work for Waterfox Portable, though.

Thanks for the tips.

What I ended up doing was just copying my profile folder from Firefox into Waterfox - I'll have to look up the paths, they're slightly different. The add-ons preferences weren't in there but I don't have too many that need configuration so it wasn't too much of a hassle.

Waterfox portable is here: http://www.waterfoxproject.org/download.php - the second download.

It's a few versions behind but not all that far behind.
