Trying to work through a webpage. One site wont even login, I enter my information, and it says login accepted and then refreshes to the same login screen. The other page will login, but once I click anything it sends me right back to the login screen.

Does this happen on all web sites, some sites, a few sites? Can you post the address here?

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked (check the permissions on the about:permissions page).

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

It is only happening with 2 sites, they are both connected with my job. Cor-el- I have cleared all cookies, etc. But have been unable to find the folder that you said to rename or delete. I'm not sure why these sites aren't working, but it's about to cause me to lose my job.

What are the links giving you the trouble. DO NOT post user or passwords. Have you tried any other web browsers?

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.
