The most recent update added the "Add This" toolbar and search box. How do I remove it?

I have tried going to the menu and selecting the customize button, but the "Add This" toolbar does not seem to be selectable. It is taking up important real estate on my screen and I won't likely use it. How do I remove it?

If you initially downloaded Firefox from mozilla.com the most recent Firefox update certainly didn't add the "Add This" toolbar. It's most likely something you installed, even if it wasn't intentionally.

To uninstall the AddThis Firefox extension go to the Tools menu of your Firefox browser, select Uninstall... from the AddThis sub-menu.

Or, you can also uninstall the AddThis extension by selecting Add-ons from the Firefox Tools menu. Then, select Extensions and click the uninstall button under AddThis. Be sure to restart your browser for the change to take effect.

Regardless of the AddThis extension, you run a vulnerable version of Java, which should be updated ASAP.
