Transferring Favorites iimported from Chrome

more options

On my previous computer, I imported my favorites/bookmarks from Google Chrome into Firefox. I accessed them using an "Imported from Google Chrome" folder on my Firefox bookmarks bar, and this setup worked perfectly.

Now I have a new computer, and I would like to export these favorites/bookmarks (previously imported from Chrome) to my new P.C. I've tried the import/export option, copying/pasting to an external hard drive, and dragging to an E.H.D., but nothing works. Any ideas on how to transfer these imported Chrome favorites to my new P.C.?

Thanks for your help.

Did you use the Export to HTML feature described in this article: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks?

When you import that file into your new Firefox (Import Bookmarks from an HTML file), the Imported from Chrome folder should be in there, but it may be buried one or two levels deep within a new Imported Bookmarks folder, possibly on the Bookmarks Menu, and possibly in the Unsorted Bookmarks section.

The easiest way to explore and reorganize among folders and sections is to use the Library dialog. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+b
  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

Any luck tracking it down?
