Why does Firefox show that Allstate.com is not a secure website? It does not show the little green lock.

If you only have the problem on the one site try using the link with an s in the https

You should then see the green padlock.

If you have problems with all sites something else is going wrong, possibly some security related program is interfering with the process.

Hi John99

I do see the green padlock but after I sign on it turns to a Gray triangle why is that? It only shows an https not secure though

It appears the site is not fully secure.

It is not a site I use but it seems possible it is using a secure server ok for the sign on.

But afterwards maybe it is having problems and has mixed content. If so Firefox displays a grey shield icon.

The icon is a gray triangle
Mixed passive content
Only the potentially harmful part of HTTP content is blocked so some websites may still have some HTTP content (such as images). In that case, the connection between Firefox and the website is still partially encrypted and should not be considered safe against eavesdropping, hence the gray triangle icon.
If you get a Grey triangle
A gray warning triangle indicates:
  • The website does not supply identity information.
  • The connection to this website is not fully secure because it contains unencrypted elements (such as images).
