spell checker malfunctioning

Spell checker malfunctions.

Look at the images below; before and after. Notice that the spell checker appended two words together. Sometimes it even splits off part of a word and puts it at the end of the corrected word. It's doing crazy things.

Are you encountering this problem on Facebook? I looked into this yesterday evening and I confirm that there is a problem using spell check replacements in comment text. See: Spellcheck moves the word when you try to allow it to correct spelling errors in Facebook.

I did submit a problem report to Facebook about it, but I have no idea when it might be fixed.

As a workaround, select the word you plan to replace before right-clicking it. That seems to prevent Facebook from inserting the replacement in a random location left of what you intended.
