I am using Firefox version 40.0.3 with Norton 360 and windows XP. Occasionally the computer will lock-up when accessing a sub-link of a website or when a PDF file is downloaded. The computer must then be powered down and rebooted to again start the computer.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
