Need signup button for users to comment on existing questions

I know others have asked a similar question but as there still isn't a button to allow me to register I have to ask this question just to allow me to get registered!? It seems a bit daft to me to not have a simple "log in/register" button as most sites do so you can log in if you are registered or register if you haven't yet done that. I had been looking for a solution and managed to find what I needed and just wanted to post a comment saying that the solution had worked for me but as far as I can tell I have to ASK a question in order to register. Hello Pete

i hear you well on this. Mozilla Support has two types of users

  • Contributors
  • Normal Users

Your question focuses more on the user bit. The reason you're taken through the series of checks is to make sure you don't ask a question that's already been asked. That is why similar questions and help articles are coined to the user prior to them asking the question.

This also makes the process easier. If i get an answer in the first few minutes of being on the site from the ones presented, then i have no need to create the account to ask the question. The account is also just for formalities and metrics for us to be able to serve you better.

Hope this answers your concerns. We do welcome feedback. This is an issue you can float to the developers as they create better ideas for the future.
