I continue to have problems receiving emails via Thunderbird. I am using version 45.1.1.

The problem occurs when messages are either deleted or moved from the inbox to a local folder. When messages are deleted they are in the trash folder as well as the inbox on Charter.net. The messages in question in the inbox are marked as being read. There are three solutions to the problem:

1. Exit Thunderbird and bring the program back up. 2. Take Thunderbird offline and bring it back online. 3. Go to Charter.net and delete any one of the messages in question in the inbox. At that point all messages in question are deleted and I start receiving emails again.

If I use solutions 1 or 2 then I get the same results as if I performed solution 3.

Sometimes, not very often, the problem seems to resolve itself. I am not sure why.

What I have noticed is that when the problem is occurring Thunderbird shows searching next to the icon that takes Thunderbird offline.

What does that mean?

Is there a solution?

It probably means you need to disable the email scanner in your anti virus
