How to enable status bar so Status-4-evar can use it
Firefox only shows activity in status bar and Status-4-Evar doesn't display.

I don't use that extension myself any longer, so I am not familiar with its current state. There is a an explanation of how it works on the download page. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
