I tried to login to Sync on my new computer but it doesn't recognize my account

My computer had to be reset completely and now that Firefox (and everything) has been reinstalled, I tried to login to my sync account, but it says that the account and email are not recognized. I researched online and found that when the sync account was last used on an older version of Firefox (which was 3 weeks ago), then it won't be recognized and I need to upgrade Firefox from the sync account. Unfortunately that is not possible as my computer had crashed. So I tried another way - uninstalled the new (47) version of Firefox and installed the older version (46) of Firefox. Unfortunately this had the same problem - it didn't recognize my account or email on sync.

Please let me know, how to access my sync account. Thank you!

If you did not upgrade to the new version of sync, your data has been deleted from the old server. Mozilla removed all data from the old servers to protect the security and privacy of their users.

The old servers were removed on September 30, 2015.

Thanks for this suggestion. It was working 3 weeks ago, so would have been after Sept. 30th 2015, and therefore would be on the server still.

I tried the link attached before posting this but didn't get the answer yet.
