Don't whether I am an exception but there are more and more websites that do not render at all, render incorrect or give an error even though they work fine in Chrome and IE. I disabled ALL add-ons and restarted Firefox to no avail. Some have since been re-enabled. Here is a list of some of the sites causing issues and the list is getting bigger by the day. Open the links in Firefox and compare to either Chrome or IE. Does anybody have an actual solution to this?

I had no problem with those links.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Fred, Did what you suggested and ran in Safe mode. Same result, see attached screen shots. Notice the urls

Anyone with an explanation or suggestion that might resolve this?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Since every program on my computer works flawlessly, including IE and Chrome, I would not even have considered going to that length since this is clearly a Firefox related issue.

However, I completely un-installed Firefox, deleted the Firefox and Extension folders and installed 49.0.1 from scratch. Lo and behold, with the exception of the Familysearch website all works fine now.

The Familysearch video will still not play full screen when I click the arrows in the bottom right of it. The video image also renders differently compared to IE and Chrome which show more and different controls at the bottom, as seen in the attached screen shots. The last one is Firefox.

Ever seen that before?

Tried that, no luck. Also tried on a laptop running Win10 Home. Installed Firefox there clean without add-ons. Ran both in normal mode as well as Safe mode. Same result as what happens on my desktop.

I then tried a second desktop running FF 47.0.1 in Safe mode and the video ran as it was supposed to. Upgraded it to 49.0.1. and it still ran okay. However, a right click on the video showed it was a video using the Brightcove Platform which apparently uses Flash and the first two computers do not have Flash installed.

However, even though Flash is not installed on the first two machines (I uninstalled it and it does not show up in the Programs and Features list), a look at the Flash information on Adobe's website seems to indicate that Flash is embedded in Chrome, as it is in Edge, but apparently not in Firefox anymore. Would also explain why the controls on the video in Firefox are not the same as those in Chrome and IE.

This may be the cause of the issue in Firefox but hopefully the problem will disappear once websites (and Chrome) will abandon Flash in favor of HTML5.

I haven't tried this;
