The following quote at the top of every forum page is cryptic at best:

"NOTICE: We are currently in the process of migrating the site. This means that any new content that is posted will NOT be moved. This includes your forum posts and answers, knowledge base edits, and changes to user profile information. We expect the migration to be complete on February 1st 19:00 UTC / 21:00 EEST / 20:00 CET / 11:00 PDT. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. "

Do you explain somewhere what this means to your community users? Sounds like discussions taking place during the "migration" will drop off a cliff. What do we do to continue active discussions? -- jclarkw

I think that there will be an extra migrate action to move yesterday's and today's changes to the new forum. It was actually planned to finish the migration yesterday as you may have read in the thread.

From a PM received yesterday:

New update concerning SUMO's migration to the Lithium Platform. Right now the data migration is done. This is good! But the Lithium team needs more time to allow search indexing of the content. This is stopping them from verifying that all the data is in the right places. So for that reason, we're putting the site migration on hold until tomorrow so that everything can be properly checked and ready to go for a smooth (as smooth as possible) site launch. :)

So what do we do now?
You are free to answer any questions you want to. There's a plan to migrate questions & answers from today and tomorrow so please do not worry about that. Although article work is not recommended at the moment so please hold off on any KB work.

Please stay tuned for more updates tomorrow and the SUMO community meeting to see the latest status of the migration. Thank you all for your patience!

This is about migrating the forum to a lithium based forum. See this thread at the contributors forum.

The referenced thread is long and tedious but does not appear to address the following excerpt from the posted quote:

"This means that any new content that is posted will NOT be moved. This includes your forum posts and answers, knowledge base edits, and changes to user profile information."

So I ask again, what happens to discussions ongoing across the migration deadline? (I have at least two active questions, and this one may qualify too.) -- jclarkw
