Cannot view CCTV on Firefox 53.0.3, can view fine on Android phone, what do I need to do?
I am using Windows 10 and Firefox. When I go to the web site for my DVR (192.168.10.xxx) I cannot see my CCTV cameras. If I use an app on my Android phone I can see them. On Firefox I get a Microsoft message saying I need to install Searchlight. Is this necessary? What are my options? Thank you.
The CCTV system is a Samsung SDR-5102.

Hi
Would I be right in saying that the message asks you to install Microsoft Silverlight?
It may be the case that this additional software is required to display elements of the website that you need to view to see the CCTV footage.
If so, you should be able to install it directly from the prompts that are provided.
Seburo, I am hesitant to download an obsolete product that is not supported by MS any longer. I am not sure if it is compatible with Firefox either. I am interested to learn how other users of CCTV cameras + Firefox handle the viewing problem. Thanks.
Hi
Fair enough, but I have done a little research of when that particular model of camera was released and it is highly probable that it would have required Silverlight which (at that time) was still supported.
Firefox v52+ disables all plugins except for Flash Why do Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat and other plugins no longer work? {web link}
Install Older Version Of Firefox {web link} Be sure to read everything here.
If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

Thanks, folks. I just will not use my computer to look at the CCTVs. Yep, I bought these things back in 2014, so I am slow in installing them. I appreciate the help.
