Issue: Inbox folder always blank even though emails exist!

TB release 52.2.1 Win10 64-bit

I have setup TB for IMAP. I can see emails in trash and sent but nothing show up in the inbox folder (completely blank). Using webmail, I am able to confirm that there are emails in the inbox on the server. I can send emails to myself and they are getting back to the computer (email envelope icon appears - hovering shows 3 emails), in TB color of the top title changes from black to blue, star appears on the envelope but when I click on the inbox folder, it is completely empty/blank.

I have tried completely uninstalling and re-installing TB. Here is something interesting. The folders for the server and TB are shown below:

WEB SERVER Inbox Drafts Sent Spam Trash

LOCAL PC with TB Inbox Drafts Sent Trash v Local Folders

 Trash
 Outbox

Inbox is blank on the local PC The contents of the Draft folders do not match (different emails in each) The contents of the Sent folders do not match (different emails in each) The contents of the Trash folder do not match (different emails in each)

Under "folder to subscribe" i have:

Drafts [x] INBOX (note capitals) [x] Sent [x] Trash [x] v mail

 SPAM.incoming [ ]
 drafts [ ]
sent-mail [ ]
trash [ ]

If I unsubscribe the top 4 and subscribe to the bottom 4, TB adds a "mail" folder in the left pane and under the folder I get:

v mail

  drafts
  sent-mail
  SPAM.incoming
  trash

The contents of these folders match the contents of the folders on the server, except there is no inbox.

I have searched for and deleted every reference to Thunderbird and folders on my pc after an uninstall but it appears that there is some hidden (or registry) entry that is still lingering prior to re-installation.

Can anyone offer any help in resolving this issue?

Thanks, Ken

I have added an attachment showing the mismatch between the folders on the server and the folders in TB.
