.Net program works with Firefox requires USB Serial Number for Security check. Serial Number not be read. Works with Windows 10 but not some Windows 7 machine
Developed in house program that uses the Serial number of a usb drive to marry the drive to the particular computer. The Serial Number is used in the Security check. Serial number is not being read properly. The computer id shows but not the Serial number of the usb drive. The program works ok with Windows 10. However, with Windows 7, it is intermittent. Some machines it works on and others it does not. Some drives it works with and others it does not.

Hi ian092488, is the problem with a web application extracting this data through the browser? Do you notice a difference between Firefox and other browsers on the Windows 7 system (e.g., IE 11, Chrome)?
If this is not a Firefox/web app issue, there probably are more appropriate forums for your question.
