Hello, yes Firefox Quantum is compatible with your Macbook Pro, as long as your MacOS version is up to date.
I have Firefox 57 (Quantum) running on MacOS X 10.12.
If there have not been many testers using it on 10.13 (High Sierra), it's possible there could be some glitches that require new fixes to Firefox. We all learn as we go with new OS releases.
