Missing folder and mail, can't find in Folder Pane
One of my folders is missing in the Folder Pane. I expanded all folders - not there. I then went to:
"C:\Users\my user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\iwhixk2s.default\Mail\Local Folders\Resell.sbd
I see the missing folder there in Resell.sbd, but if I look at the folder pane, it is not found under the Resell folder.
Is this somehow hidden in the folder pane? The missing folder is 806MB.
Any help would be appreciated

How big is the SBD folder and what is in there?
You can try rebuilding the mail indexes, take a look at this article: https://www.lifewire.com/repair-folders-thunderbird-1173102

Hello Fabian,
Thanks for your reply. I followed your link's instructions however the rebuild did not work.
I did see that all other folders show 2 file like this:
John John.msf
The folder that I am missing Does NOT show the the file with no extension.
The folder that I am missing Does show the file.msf
The folder that is the issue is 806 MB shows in properties 12 files/2 folders
Thanks for any light you can shed.
Bob
I have a similar problem where all my folders bar one have disappeared from view but appear to still be in the file system. I tried many things including uninstalling Thunderbird and removing the profile folder. Always with always the same result. In the end I stop Thunderbird and copied the whole profile from my other PC which appears to working ok (too scared to close that running copy). When I started Thunderbird all my folders where back for a few seconds then disappeared leaving with the same single folder.
I wonder if they disappeared when it connected to the remote server to refresh content. The remote IMAP server is outlook.office365.com which has always given rather poor performance and is a bit flaky but has been working. I installed Evolution to keep myself up and running and it shows all the folders fine so I think the folders are still on the sever ok. Comparing the directories on the working and problem machines now the same folders are still present.
My fears where confirmed on the good running copy:
- Closed the running of Thunderbird copy where all folders were visible and accessible.
- Started Thunderbird.
- All folders where initially present as normal.
- Said it was connecting the outlook server.
- Said it was creating a new folder.
- All bar a few folders disappeared. Even the Sent folder is gone.
Time to find out how to report a bug...
