why does tBird create a redundant sub-folder called gmail? when I delete from inbox it stays in sub-folder (gmail). If I delete from sub-folder gmail will it delete my inbox? Image attached. thanks

See the last sentence in the IMAP section here.
"Set tools -> account settings -> server settings -> advanced -> IMAP server directory to [Gmail] to fix problems with how it lists folders in the folder pane."
