I have over ten years of entries in my calendar. How do I get rid of old entries to reduce file size and clutter?

I am trying to sync my calendar to the one I have on my mobile devices. When I pulled the ics file over I found entries going back all the way to when I started using the calendar over ten years ago. While the size of the ics file on my computer is not a concern, the size on mobile devices may be a different issue. How can I "trim" the years of un-needed data from my calendar file(s)? Is it even possible without going through and individually deleting every single entry?
