Feature request: Fix the status bar

The current 'on-the-fly' status bar has many issues, especially with infinite (or long timeout) loading/hanging of resources on a website with fixed layout. Especially when the given website is more of a webapplication, where you can't scroll, and sometimes the footer provides you with essential dynamic information.

The common feature request is to add the possibility of a fixed status bar, for people that want that (you can leave the default as is).

And my own idea: make the URL in status bar hover on top of the address bar (or part of it, for example aligned to the right so it's never on top of the domain of the current website). This may sound controversial at first, but I think it's definitely the better way in terms of UI design, and makes a lot of sense especially when you are hovering links in a website.

But in any case, everything is better than a browser that forcedly displays something that hides part of the website and cannot be manually removed.

Even the ability to just turn it off for loading resources, and only display it during hovering of links would be a huge improvement! Who cares about the resources that are being loaded anyway, you could always press F12 for that. Or make a popup menu while you hover the address bar, that will show all the resources currently being loaded.

This is seriously a huge design flaw. I hope my message came across.

Hi, came across but does no good here as Firefox Volunteer Support can not make changes to Firefox. This will sit here and possibly be seen by know one that can.

Please go to the 3Bar Menu then Help --> Submit Feedback and will be reviewed by a panel. Suggest you provide some URL examples.
