I want to save a copy of my imap emails and folders before I switch hosting and email servers

I'm using Thunderbird email client to manage an imap email account that is setup through my website hosting. I've created special folders to organize my emails.

I'm moving to a new host service and I need to save a copy of my imap emails and folders to my desktop so that I won't lose them once the hosting and domain are transferred to the new hosting service.

Copy the contents of the IMAP folders to subfolders of Local Folders, then confirm the copy is successful and contains the message bodies (not just the headers in case that is how your account is synchronized). To back up the Local Folders outside of TB, either back up the entire profile (should be done anyway), or just the mail folders with ImportExportTools (does full or partial profile backups).
