Firefox doesn't load some google.com sites
Relatively recent convert to Firefox from Safari/Chrome on Mac OS...
Have been unable to load some Google sites like maps.google.com, mail.google.com and even google.com. See screenshot for maps.google.com in normal mode. I have no issue opening these pages with Safari or Chrome. I've reviewed similar questions on this forum and all seem to point to antivirus software. I've tried a variety of steps offered in those postings to no effect. This behavior is consistent with Firefox normal and safe modes.
Surprisingly, groups.google.com loads fine in Firefox. See screenshot for groups.google.com.
The error is shown as "Connection is Not Secure" and nothing is downloaded. I am given no option to proceed if I choose to.
I am using latest version of FF browser but have had this issue for several versions since initial download earlier in 2018. Any insights would be appreciated.

Hi, was there a reason you posted in Safe Mode ?
Yes... because I'm not very bright and I wanted to convince anyone reading my post that antivirus is unlikely the cause.

Safe Mode tells us if any of the Extensions are the problem or any of this that are disabled while in Safe Mode :
- all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
- default theme is used (no persona)
- userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
- default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
- Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
- hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
- plugins are not affected
- preferences are not affected
It does not tell us if you have Malware or not. Nor does it tell us if Antivirus program is the problem as you do not mention the name/s that could be a issue : Avast/AVG, Kaspersky, BitDefender, ESET and sometimes McAfee.
Running Webroot SecureAnywhere AV software, which I believe uses browser extension for scanning... disabled in Safe Mode.
Will it help if I re-post in Normal Mode?
No is fine. Just trying to figure out the issue without having you do a Refresh.
Since had it for several versions you say it maybe best to do a clean install : So backup :

Dump it : Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.2 with a Full Version Installer
OK... thanks for suggestion. Used Omni Remover to completely remove current install. Installed fresh instance using link provided above. Problem persists... see screenshot.
Thank-you Pkshadow. Worked through these articles and tried items that made sense. No luck.
It seems I'm not the only user with this problem but I'd like to help get to the bottom of it. Is there any way in FF to capture a definitive trace of the execution and the specific exception that breaks?

Was there a reason FF uninstall didn't work? And did you delete the Mozilla folder before reinstalling?
Thanks for reply WestEnd.
FF Uninstall left vestiges of previous installation, which I understood I needed to remove. Finder didn't locate any folders called Mozilla, which is why I used the OR app to clean it all up. It worked... I started again with a fresh install.
