Disable the notification that an add-on changed my New Tab page
Every time I restart my browser and then open a new tab, I'm notified that Tridactyl has changed my new tab page even though I've clicked "Keep changes" every time. Tridactyl changing my new tab page every time I start up is desired behavior, so I don't want to receive a notification about it every time it happens. How can I completely disable the notification?

Is this - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tridactyl-vim/ - what you refer to as Tridactyl?
Here is the "Issues" page for that extension: https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl/issues Is that in the list? Because that sounds like an issue with that extension, like maybe a Bug.
I have a few Web Extensions that thank me for installing the extension; one does it when the extension is updated (not telling me that it was updated) and another extension thanks me like every 7 or 8 days. I attribute that behavior to a Bug in both.
It isn't a bug. The extension intentionally changes your startup page to what you have set in its settings (you can go in and change it to whatever you want) every time you start your browser to ensure that it can function properly on a new tab and prevent other extensions from changing it (which could prevent it from working properly in a new tab).
Regardless, I don't want to get this notification *at all*, whether it be from Tridactyl or any other extension. I want to disable the notification entirely. My problem isn't with the new tab page being changed, since that's desired behavior. It's with being bothered with a notification about it every time it happens. I do not want a notification that my new tab page has been changed even if it has actually been changed to something different than it was.

Hi Jerl, is this something that started in Firefox 62 (since last week) or did Firefox 61 behave the same way? Does the notification require action on your part to approve/disapprove the change, or is it a timed/fading panel just for your information?
Sometimes Firefox has a preference to not show you something you've already seen before. However, I don't think if there is a preference for this or, if there is, why it keeps getting reset.
I would assume that Firefox remembers this in storage or in a pref.
This is the related code:

I did not use Firefox 61. I used Firefox ESR until Sept. 5, when it stopped supporting non-WebExtensions add-ons like Vimperator or Tab Groups. The notification does require action; it'll sit there forever unless you click to either keep the change or revert.

There doesn't appear to be any setting for it in there. The function for setting the new tab URL only seems to check if it was changed by an add-on, and always displays the notification if it was changed by an add-on.

Accidental double-post.
