Adobe Flash plays only black frame

I downloaded and installed Adobe Flash when I couldn't get any play on a few videos. After install, the first frame of one video shows, but when I click Play the window goes black and remains black.

No progress shown.

Are you sure that a Flash player is used and not the HTML5 media player?

You can check via the right-click context menu of the player area what type of media player is used. A Flash based player shows a context menu with the Flash version.


You can check the Web Console to see if there are media related messages.

I'm afraid I'm unsophisticated as to what the stuff in the context menu means. Thanks for the suggestion, though. And the Web Console was a mystery to me.

I looked the page over after seeing this, and cannot find any mention of any flag of any sort. Can you point me at what you're talking about? Thanks.
