I found this in my addons/extensions

Premium Enhanser http://premium-search.com

It was taking me to bling not to Google as I wanted.I have no idea how it got there. I disabled it and that fixed the hijacking from Google maps. It also fixed the problem of Google maps not searching for the address I put in.

That was very good work. Well done.

It’s very sad, but many software downloaders/ installers will trick you into installing not only their program, but other programs as well.

You have heard of the fine print in shady contracts, right? Well, some installers you need to look at the itsy bitsy teeny weeny fine print.

You are thinking you are giving the installer permission to install the program you want by using the recommended option. But if you use the Manual Option Instead, you discover all kinds of stuff that you do not even know what it is or what it does.

From now on, everyone needs to Use The Manual Option to put a stop to this.

Note that these programs can also change browser/computer settings.

You are correct, I recently installed a couple of floor plan programs Roomsketcher Home Designer Sweet Home 3D

and the last one was Autodesk AutoCAD 2018.

I knew better, thanks for the reminder.

Also of interest, when I viewed today's history and noticed more than one search sites I was taken to. They include searchroute, externals-amazonaws.com, premium-search.co, www.bing.com.

Thanks for your comment. Don

Please note, I did not insert any of those links, they just appeared when I posted. I had a coma after each name. Hmmm bug alert!!

If you post something that looks like a link, many forums will turn it into a link for their users. Much easier than copy/paste.
