Stop Checking for Updates on Ubuntu Systems
I'm running Firefox 65.0.2 on Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 LTS.
I keep getting this very annoying popup telling me to update Firefox. I tried to download the package and install it but I'm having difficulty being somewhat new to Linux. I check the support pages and I find this:
"Note: If you use your Linux distribution's packaged version of Firefox, you will need to wait for an updated package to be released to its package repository. This article only applies if you installed Firefox manually (without using your distribution's package manager)." (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-release)
So, is there a way to stop the annoying popups while I wait for a release in the appropriate Ubuntu repository?

What you could do is install the program from Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Hello,
Thanks for the info, however, it is the same link that I get when Firefox throws up the pop up which leads be back to the same quote from above regarding waiting until the update is in the repository.
What really needs to happen on Mozilla's end is to put the don't check for updates back in the Preferences. But for now I need a workaround.
I called for more help.
