How can i change the fonts used in thunderbird
I am tryng to set up Thunderbird on my MacBook. I want to make the fonts larger and easier to read. I used the Theme Font & Size Changer add-on to increase the size of the font in the email list portion, but now the email content font has changed to very small and I can barely read it. How can I get all of the fonts larger?

TF&SC is mainly for adjusting the fonts for the Threads Pane (message list) and menus. To adjust the fonts for message content, open Preferences/Display/Formatting/Advanced, and change the settings for Fonts for: for Latin and Other Writing Systems.

This just amazes me, I can not even find preferences unless you are going to do an idiot guide what is the point????
It is really frustrating when nerds think everyone can just follow stuff, wtf fk change what isn't broken? the font is stupidly small, I've increased the size using the up and down arrow then when an email gets sent back to me, because I run my business is stupidly big!!!!!
Really fkd off why can't things just be simple
I want to change the size on the threads pane. When I try to install Theme Font and Size Changer, Thunderbird (68.3.0) tells me it is incompatible, although the web page I got it from claims it is compatible with 68.
What am I doing wrong?
Which page states that the add-on is compatible with 68? Neither of the official sites claims compatibility beyond TB 60 (release versions).

My error--I misread it.
I tried Preferences>Display>Formatting>Advanced. I found no way to adjust the font size in the email content portion of the page. The font is so small I can barely read it. Unless I can solve this issue I can't use Thunderbird on my MacBook. Very disappointing as I used to use it exclusively on my PC.

In the Advanced settings, adjust the fonts and sizes with Fonts for: Latin and repeat with Fonts for: Other Writing Systems. Uncheck 'Allow messages to use other fonts'. Note that TB sets Sizes in pixels, not points; 14pt is approx. 20px.

I'm not certain we're all talking about the same thing . . . In my case (TB 68.3x, Mac OS) it's the list of email subject headers that show in what looks like a 6pt font, with the various accounts on the left side of the window 10pt. I've tried the advanced settings as described, as well as the 'layout.css.devPixelsPerPx' config editor fix - none work.

The method of changing the preference does work, but you may have to set a value of anywhere between 1 and 3:
