Can't set location for downloads

Until sometime in the last few days, when I attempted to download files from Firefox on Android, my downloaded files appeared in the "My Files" folder on Android under "Downloads" automatically, where I could move or open the file. Today, when attempting to download a file, I was asked if I wanted to use Firefox or Google Play to download a file. When I chose Firefox, not only did the file not appear in my "Downloads" folder in "My Files" but I also couldn't move the downloaded file - when I went to Downloads in Firefox, my only option was to open or delete the file. The issue persists even after uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. Any ideas?

Hi

Thank you for your question.

This sounds like an issue with the file manager app that you are using that is preventing the downloaded file from being opened or moved.

You may wish to try installing a different file manager from the Google Play Store and using that to open or move the files in question.

No, it's not the file manager, because when I download items from my email or from other apps, there's no issue with accessing or moving them. The issue is specific to Firefox.
