How do i import my local folders and email addresses from old laptop to new one in TB?
Hello,
Hope someone can help me, I have followed all these steps to move Thunderbird Data from my old laptop to my new laptop:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer
Everything fine until the last step, this one:
"14. When prompted, choose to replace your current data."
I was not prompted, waited a bit, but nothing happened.
I then opened Thunderbird on my new laptop, and it asked for username, password, etc. and I did that, connecting TB with my gmail address.
Now, after I connected (with the TB server), I got all my emails that was in my 'inbox', also the newest ones today, and I got all my 'sent mail' but I did not get
a. all my email addresses
b. all my 'local folders' on old laptop that I created, about 15 local folders, they do not show in my new TB on my new laptop.
Should a and b be part of the above steps to transfer it to my new laptop, or is there other steps to copy my email addresses and local folders to my new TB on my new laptop?
Thank you for any help or suggestions.
Greetings

What version of thunderbird are you running on the new laptop ? What version of thunderbird are you running on the old laptop ?
If you had installed and run Thunderbird for the first time on new laptop it would have created a default profile. Then you would have exited Thunderbird on both computers in order to copy and paste the 'Thunderbird' folder.
If you copied the User Account/Appdata/Roaming/Thunderbird folder on old laptop and then pasted it into 'Roaming' folder on new laptop, you would either have needed to delete that default 'Thunderbird' folder first prior to pasting or when pasting into 'Roaming' folder you would get prompted to overwrite the current Thunderbird folder.
On old laptop:
Q: Did you exit Thunderbird first - this is important and then copy the:
C:/Users/User Account name/Appdata/Roaming/'Thunderbird' folder to an external hardrive or usb etc.?
Q: Did you copy the 'Thunderbird' folder or something else ?
On new laptop:
C:/Users/User Account name/Appdata/Roaming/
Is there only one 'Thunderbird' folder in the 'Roaming ' folder?
Please post images showing the contents of the following: C:/Users/User Account name/Appdata/Roaming/'Thunderbird' folder C:/Users/User Account name/Appdata/Roaming/Thunderbird/'Profiles' folder
