I'm having problems with my outlook.com mail boxes*** and an expert on the Microsoft Community suggests that I sign on using Firefox. I already have a Firefox account name & password but when I tried to sign in the Community here, Firefox didn't recognise me and I've had to set up this account. (1) What should I do to be able to log into the Microsoft Community with my Firefox account? (2) Which Firefox url should I save to get back here with one click? (I had to use Bing to get here.) Hoping you can help. Thanks

Each website has its own user database login system. Having an account on one website does not give you access to another unrelated website.

Which Firefox url should I save to get back here with one click?

The main web address for this forum is: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/firefox

Go to the top of any support.mozilla.org web page and press your user icon to see your Mozilla profile. Including your questions and answers.

Thanks Fred McD. You say that '"Each website has its own user database login system. Having an account on one website does not give you access to another unrelated website. So how do I open my Firefox browser so that I can use Firefox to access MS Community (and any other website of course)?

You don't need a password to open Firefox.

Go to the website you want and enter the login data if needed.

When you open Firefox, it has an address bar at the top like other browsers. You can type or paste a full address there, or if you enter a few search terms, you'll get results on Google.

That said, the view of your email Inbox, which could be either

should be roughly the same in all browsers. It could look very different if you are viewing your mail in a separate mail application such as:

  • Microsoft Office Outlook
  • Mail app
  • Thunderbird

Is that where the problem is?

Hello TaffyOutlane,

To open Firefox you either click on the Firefox icon on your taskbar, or (if Firefox is your default browser) on a Firefox shortcut on your desktop.

That's all.

Then you just go to any site you want; you'll be using Firefox as your browser.

By the way, you say : "I had to use Bing to get here" - Bing is not a browser though; it's Microsoft's default search engine; Edge is Microsoft's default browser.
