I would like to stay logged in for some websites even when I close the browser.

My settings are like this:

1. Enhanced tracking protection enabled; 2. Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed is enabled; 3. Firefox will use custom settings for history; 4. Clear history is enabled under History, the rest of the options under History are disabled; 5. Settings for Clear History are: Everything is enabled except Cookies and Site Preferences

For example, for Firefox I allowed cookies for session, and I stay logged in when I restart the browser. For other sites, Allow cookies for session doesn't work, it disconnects me from the site, but when I change the permission to Allow Cookies, I stay logged in. And for other sites still, even if I Allow cookies, they don't keep me logged in. For one of the sites of this third category, I even added in Permissions the subdomain that was used to log me in.

If sub domains are involved then best is to create the allow exception for the top level domain like https://mozilla.org to include support.mozilla.org for this SUMO forum.

To stay logged in via a session cookie would only work if you keep the tab for this website open when you close Firefox to make Firefox store this seesion cookie as part of session data in sessionstore.jsonlz4 (i.e. you extend the current session to the next session).

Does that specific website has a special checkbox to remember you ?

On both websites, whether there is a checkbox to remember the login or not, if I allowed their cookies for the session, they didn't remember that I was logged in, even if I left the tab open before closing Firefox.

One of those sites offers the option to remember the login, but that only works if I allowed the Cookies for the Site (Allowed cookies for the session doesn't work).

The other website, ITPro.tv if you must know, does not offer the option to remember that I'm logged in, is this why it doesn't work even though I allowed cookies for that site?
