If you have no add-ons that you want to save, you should be fine to Refresh Firefox then. I was going on the assumption that you may have installed add-ons onto your browser.

I also have a problem on YouTube. If I post something with a URL, I can often see that post get posted 5 times when I only clicked once. Is that a bug or a feature of Firefox? I have no such problems when I am on Youtube with Google Chrome. Never get script errors when I do email from earthlink at webmail using Chrome. Is Google just trying to piss me of so I use their browser whenever I go to earthlink? Several issues here. Maybe refresh might help if I could find it. Bye
What you have described doesn't sound like the normal behaviour you would expect when using Firefox, so it does sound like something isn't working properly for you.
However, Refreshing Firefox (which you can learn more about on the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings page is kind of a last-resort option. Usually, there are other things that can be done to fix the issue before you get to that point. That said, if you would prefer to try Refreshing Firefox, feel free to do so using the steps in the page I linked.
Alternatively, I'd recommend trying Firefox in Safe Mode first. Safe Mode is a special troubleshooting mode in Firefox which temporarily disables any add-ons that you have installed in Firefox and some settings as well. It does, more or less, what Refreshing Firefox does, except that it's not permanent. It will give you a chance to see if you can pin-point the issue.
The most common cause of the types of messages that you are getting are browser add-ons. Some add-ons that you may have installed on Firefox can cause some performance issues. Safe Mode is a good way to see if that's what's causing the issue.
If you don't have any performance issues when running in Safe Mode, one of the add-ons you have installed is the likely culprit, so you will need to use some trial and error to see which one is slowing down Firefox. See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.
If it's not an add-on related issue, sometimes hardware acceleration can cause similar problems. You can try disabling that feature as well. It's one of the settings that Firefox disables when in Safe Mode, so it's a good thing to try disabling if the issue doesn't happen when you are in Safe Mode.
Hope this helps.
What is the problem with add-ons? I don't remember ever adding on any features. What do they do for me? Why have them? Why not just Firefox without all the add-ons?
I am browsing in Safe Mode Firefox. Works fine. Has my bookmarks. Just no malware or whatever that was that was sent to me.
If I always start in Safe Mode, then the idiots who send malware to my Firefox browser will be defeated.
Why not just hit Refresh? I lost up to an hour a day because someone was running script on me from Google Chrome. I know it was their script because I saw their error messages when I went to my webmail earthlink account. I am tired of all the government spying. And the malware.
