Hi For the short time that the computer is away - just use webmail. Does your wife know how to log in to her email (webmail) account online, and what her password is? Test before sending the computer away. I advise making a copy of the profile folder as a backup, just in case, before it goes for service, and anything else you have on it that you would hate to lose. Agnes.

It depends on the type of email in use. Email that is IMAP, like gmail, can be accessed by going to the website on any browser and using the correct login and password. in IMAP, the messages are stored on the server.

If the email is POP3, then the messages MIGHT all reside on her computer, depending on how the account was set up. Typically, POP3 email gets downloaded to your computer and is removed from the server. The only copy is on your computer. Any other computer that is able to login to the site would only see NEW messages that have not been downloaded yet. When the older computer reconnects, any new messages that were viewed by the temporary computer would no longer be available.
