every time i press the volume up key i while watching videos a window for Dev Tools opens up. also firefox won't save any of my settings like blackout mode

What key is your volume up key, one of the F keys? Might be able to disable the dev tool shortcut
F12 opens the developer tools for me.
I'm not sure how function keys work on Mac and whether they can have a dual function.
