Logging into YouTube and wrong account comes up

Okay this is bizarre~!

I've logged into my firefox account for over 5 years, and have always gone to my account on YouTube, with the same email account, and same YouTube account.

Now, I log into Youtube, while using firefox browser, and an account I have not been in for over 8 years has become my default. I try and switch accounts from within Youtube, but it goes back to that old account. I tried refreshing Firefox and it did nothing.

I cannot watch any videos or upload any videos on my computer to my account, since it only defaults to the old account.

Please advise

I don't know about old accounts, but these days, your Google and YouTube logins are linked. Is it possible there was a change on the Google login side?

You could try this common advice:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that.

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

You may need to do this twice: once on YouTube and once on Google.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help with getting logged into the correct account?
