We have a split domain here and I have .dmz and .ent domains ie. nas1.ent, vpn.dnz and since the last update of firefox my URLS keep autocorrecting to nas1.net which does not resolve or worse resolves to an external server (my linux systems have star wars names which some .net's resolve to cybersquatter sites.) how do I disable this Feature, I have tried adding hosts to whitelist and to trusted sites

Hmm, Firefox should never autocorrect an address like http://nas1.ent/. If there is a redirect saved in the web cache, you could flush the web cache: How to clear the Firefox cache.

The autofill feature which suggests top-level host names in the address bar as you type may provide unwanted suggestions. Those can be a difficult to remove. If you do have a history entry for nas1.net, you could try this:

  • Open the Library window using "Show All History" or Ctrl+Shift+H
  • In the small search box upper right, enter enough of the unwanted domain to avoid accidentally matching other sites
  • Right-click the history entry and choose Forget About This Site -- this is a much more thorough level of cleaning than a simple Delete

Does that help?

You can consider to set browser.urlbar.autoFill = false on the about:config page.
