Since the last Thunderbird update yesterday afternoon, I cannot access my email without a password, which I don't have or don't know, and they have offered to send a password reset email, which doesn't help, does it.

Tearing my hair. Tried rebooting, tried opening from my applications file, nothing...nada...zip...zilch.

I'm not a tech, but...

Tools>Options>Privacy&Security>Saved Passwords>Show Passwords>Yes

This will show what passwords are stored.

If there are passwords stored, I would bet money the trouble is with Thunderbird 78.7.0.

I wasn't able to send emails with 78.7.0, so I reverted back to 78.6.0 after downloading a copy from here.

And I can now send emails again.

Good luck.
