How to Update Vcard in Account Settings
Dear Thunderbird Community,
I need to change my address in my vCard under Account Settings as my address has changed.
I select my email account, open Account Settings, press Edit Card, select the Work tab, type in my new address and press OK.
I close Account Settings (by selecting X in the top tab).
If I sent an email, the vCard shows the old address. The new address is not saved.
When I go back into Edit Card to the Work tab, the address has been reset to my old address. I have repeated this several times (i.e. it is not dependent on sending an email). The moment you close Account Settings, I can go back in, and the old address is always there.
How do I get Edit Card to accept and save my address changes for my vCard?
Thank you.

I've been testing this after seeing your question. I currently do not have/use a vcard. I created an address book called 'VCard AB' In Account Settings, chose to use Vcard, clicked on Edit Card. Entered details, selected to add to VCard AB and clicked on Ok, but I left the Account Settings tab open. Checked Address Book and nothing is saved.
Opened the 'Edit card' again and all info displayed, so OK Closed 'Account Settings' tab Nothing saved in address book and upon reopening Account Settings - Edit Card now empty.
I can fully reproduce your issue. This was also tested in Safe Mode.
So this is not just inability to Edit a card in use, it is also inability to create one in the first place. Data is just not being saved. I'll look into this as a bug report.
Created a bug report: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1708750
I have a partial solution: the problem appears to be that having the "add vcard" box checked prevents the update from being applied upon selecting OK. Thus, to edit the card first uncheck this box, then edit the card, then check the box again. However, this does not save the format preference (such as HTML) selected in the edit phase. Any suggestions there? Alan
