I use several profiles, e.g. for work and private browsing. firefox changes the default profile, to the one, which was started last. however, I would like to permanently make my work profile the default profile, even if I started the private profile later. How can I achieve this?

the reason is, that links in other applications (like slack) are opened in the default profile. I already set Default=1 in profiles.ini for my work profile, but no luck.

How are you starting Firefox ?

If you start Firefox with the "-P profile" parameter then this shouldn't affect the default profile as set in profiles.ini. If you use the profile manager to select the profile then the last used profile is saved.

Absent another solution:

After starting an alternate profile, go to the about:profiles page in that window and switch the default by hand using the "Set as Default Profile" button for your work profile.

Right, I use the profile manager. I now solved the problem by using the -P parameter.

Thanks!
