color coding and grouping tabs

more options

many times I will have many tabs open in a browser, covering different subjects - cars, science things, sports, movies, etc. Is there a way I can cluster all the related topic tabs together, in an order I tell it? Also, color-coding would be a great visual cue - like red tabs for sports, blue for cars, green for science, etc. Can I order and color the tabs like that either in general setup or any available add-ons?

There is no built-in way to color tabs, and also, I think add-ons can only set a general theme and not color individual tabs. But add-ons definitely can make lists and groups. For example, you could take a look at this one:

thanks, but not as fast & easy as color-coding. Why, won't Firefox let users color-code or group by sight like say a thick line between groups?

I don't know whether anyone has proposed that. There are suggestions for tab grouping on Mozilla's new feedback site. For example: https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/post/721344
