I have a fresh installed Thunderbird. "Fresh" means I only did "apt-get install thunderbird" (on Raspberry Pi OS which is Debian buster based). I did not create a profile in the meaning of added a mail address and server logins.

From another machine I copied the complete sub-profile folder (means "*/profiles/wew98fi*") into the profiles folder of the fresh machine. I removed the pre-installed profiles folder and renamed the backuped one with its name.

But when I run TB it asked me to create an mail account. That is my problem. How can I get it in there?

cancel out of the account creation and use the menu to select more troubleshooting and then click the show button for the profile folder and copy your stuff into that folder with Thunderbird closed.
