I'm using Windows 10 with taskbar located at the top of screen (instead of default bottom). Before updating Thunderbird to version 91 (now i have 91.2.1 x64 release) i was receiving new email notifications in top right corner, near to system tray. Now I'm getting the same notifications in FIXED place - bottom right corner, which is frustrating! There is no option in setting to change that. The position of taskbar does not effect position of the notification, I've tried moving the taskbar.

Does it appear in the top right corner in safe/troubleshoot mode (hold Shift when launching TB)?

more options

No, the position is still right-bottom in safe mode.

The only other thing I can suggest is to close TB, then delete or rename session.json in the profile folder; it stores the open tabs and the status of other layout items when TB is closed.

Still nothing. The posistion remains the same.

I'm using Windows 10 OS. Just tested this by moving Taskbar to top. Start a version 78.14.0 and new mail notification at the top right near tray. Start a version 91.2.1 and new mail notification bottom right.

Note: I'm not using the system notification.

I'm able to replicate this.
